Richmond Audio Society - Axiom review

Richmond Audio Society - Axiom review

recently purchased an Axiom preamp from Tim Stinson and wanted to share my impressions. If you are not familiar with Tim’s design you can check his web site http://luminousaudio.com/. I was always interested in a passive design for the obvious reasons: one less component to muddy up the sound, less cost, etc. But I’ve read that the sound for passives can be lifeless and the low end thin. Since Tim will let us try it before we buy it I brought one of the multi-input versions home. My initial impression was what I expected – cleaner and quicker. I also thought...

Positive Feedback - Mega Power Lynx AC Power Cord

Positive Feedback - Mega Power Lynx AC Power Cord

As reviewed by Michael Wechsberg I don’t know about you, but I hate to spend lots of money on power cords. I just wish the component manufacturers would provide a good cord with their equipment and that we could all live with that. Unfortunately power cords do make a difference in the quality of sound you get from your system and the guys who specialize in making electronics sing are not similarly gifted in optimizing power cords. Postitive Feedback - Synchestra Signature follow-up

a follow-up by Art Shapiro In Issue 14 of PFO (see Luminous), I wrote a rave review of the top-of-the-line speaker cables from Luminous, the Synchestra Signatures. They had proved to be a distinct improvement over my longstanding reference cables, the Cardas Golden Hexlink 5Cs. Given their rather sane pricing compared with many competitors, the Synchestra Signatures are a no‑brainer for consideration by the reader with a relatively high‑end system and an upgrade itch. Positive Feedback - Synchestra Signature speaker cables

Positive Feedback - Synchestra Signature speaker cables

as reviewed by Art Shapiro, with a few words by Dave Clark   In a recent issue of Positive Feedback Online, I reported my experiences with Luminous Audio's bottom-of-the-line speaker cable, the Prestige. It did a lot of things well, and is worthy of consideration by readers not preposterously far up the audio food chain. Luminous isn't one of those companies that bumps up the price of its products to bleed-the-audiophile levels, under the common opinion that if one charges enough for something, it has to be good. Even if the Prestige couldn't beat my Cardas speaker cable, at some...

Stereo Times - Luminous Audio Technology Synchestra Silver Reference Some of the Best Gets Better

Stereo Times - Luminous Audio Technology Synchestra Silver Reference Some of the Best Gets Better

Gene Towne, November 2003 Over the past couple of years, I have auditioned products from Luminous Audio Technology of Richmond, VA, purveyor of wireware to the gentry. Admittedly, having not sampled all of LAT Chief, Tim Stinson’s wares (shameful), I do have considerable experience with the crème de la crème of Luminous’ offerings—the Synchestra series. The Signature and the Reference were reviewed here earlier and as my reference, each of the then top shelf Stinson interconnects has provided much listening enjoyment over the ensuing months.
